PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a builder for building a field bus system which is easy about the update work without needing the change of the control loop constitution and also the re-setting of apparatus information and block information set by a user, when updating apparatus information files. SOLUTION: The field bus system builder for supporting engineering works for building a field bus system previously registers an apparatus for which the field bus system is to be built. When the registered apparatus is deleted, the builder first transfers information set by user about the deleted apparatus to specified memory areas. When a substitute apparatus for the deleted apparatus is added to registration, it has the substitute apparatus inherit the transferred information set by a user.
