PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a transfer speed can not be accelerated. SOLUTION: Since data to be transferred from a computer 10 can be compressed by providing an expansion part 24a3 for expanding data compressed by an external hard disk device 20, efficiency in transfer when transferring the data through a low speed USB interface can be improved and the transfer speed can be accelerated. Further, since the data are compressed and transferred for the unit of 64 KB on the side of the computer 10, data can be written on a hard disk 25 for the unit of 64 KB after expansion on the side of the external hard disk device 20 so that data can be smoothly written on the hard disk 25 without stagnating in the case of writing.
