A solid electrolytic capacitor having excellent electric characteristics,wherein water repellent silicon rubber hardened by moisture or heat is applied to the extracted part of a valve acting metal foil and the end face of a valve metal porous body corresponding to the extracted part and the portion of a dielectric film covering the extraction part to form a discrete insulating layer.
