The inking device for tampon printing has a cliche located in a plane and a sliding part moving relatively to the cliche to ink it. The retainer for the cliche (14) on its under side and/or laterally is provided with one or more guides (24) together with a fixing device. The locating surfaces of the slide ring (15) are formed as narrow circular ring surfaces. The locating surfaces can also be formed as an exchangeable location ring, both axial ends of which are provided with blade-shaped locating surfaces. A wear-minimizing material combination is provided for the locating surfacse and cliches.
