Messages are transmitted and received with different destination- and originating-point codes (DPC, OPC) in several link sets (LS1,LS2,LS3). The destination-point codes (DPC:X,DPC:Y:DPC:Z) of the received messages are converted into the destination-point code (DPC:X) of the switching center, and into the originating-point code (OPC:X) of the messages transmitted by the switching center. The conversion is performed using a table containing originating-point codes corresponding to the destination-point codes of the messages transmitted by the switching center. An Independent claim is also included for a method of connecting several link sets to a switching center.
