A hinge device allowing a cover body part to be versatilely utilized by making the cover body part foldable in lateral direction in foldable equipment and capable of developing excellent functions and a cell phone using the hinge device, the hinge device for connecting a body part 13 to the cover body part 12 comprising open/close hinge parts 2 and 3 on an abscissa allowing the cover body part 12 to be openably operated and allowing the opened cover body part 12 to be fixed at a first open position where an operation is allowed and a folding hinge part 4 on an ordinate fixed to the body part 13, operated when the cover body part 12 is opened beyond the first open position, allowing the cover body part 12 to be foldably operated counterclockwise or clockwise, and allowing the cover body part 12 to be fixed at a position where the cover body part 12 is folded 90°or 180°counterclockwise or clockwise.
