PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stretch fabric having excellent durability, chlorine resistance and flame retardance, and further having soft feeling, and thin and flat appearance. SOLUTION: This covered yarn comprises a core yarn and a sheath yarn. The core yarn comprises a side-by-side type or an eccentric sheath-core type polyester-based conjugate fiber composed of one constituent component consisting essentially of a polyethylene terephthalate and the other constituent component consisting essentially of a polytrimethylene terephthalate. The sheath yarn comprises a heat-resistant high-performance fiber.
