PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas hydrate investigation system capable of improving the investigation accuracy and investigation efficiency of gas hydrate present in the seabed. SOLUTION: This system for investigating a hydrate layer H present in the seabed ground G by boring comprises a research ship 10 floating on the water; a boring device 41 for boring the seabed ground G to collect the gas hydrate; a riser pipe for connecting the research ship 10 to the boring device 41; and a jacket foundation 32 integrated to the boring device 41 and buried in the seabed ground G to fix the boring device 41 to the seabed ground G.
