PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber having good tint (b value), special micropores, excellent in hygroscopicity, water absorption properties, dry feeling and excellent in formability with generating very small amount of deposits to a spinneret even when carrying out a continuous spinning through the spinneret for a long time and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyester fiber is to use a polyester-producing catalyst containing a specific titanium compound and a phosphorus compound, blend a specific metal sulfonate at an arbitrary stage until finishing the melt spinning of the polyester, bring the obtained polyester composition to be a fiber and treat the fiber with the aqueous solution of an alkali compound to remove at least a part of the metal sulfonate. |
