PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform such a printing as a dot recording region, a blank region and a dot recording region are arranged side by side in the sub-scanning direction on a print sheet efficiently. SOLUTION: Dot recording regions Rr1, Rr2 and Rr3 for forming a dot and blank regions Rb1 and Rb2 for forming no dot exist on a print sheet. When recording of a dot in the dot recording region Rr2 ends at fourth pass, alignment feeding is performed by an amount SSp1. Consequently, a print head is fed relatively to a relative position where nozzle #1 is located on a main scanning line, i.e., the 32th line, at the upper end of the third dot recording region Rr3. When such an alignment feeding is performed, the time required for printing can be shortened as compared with a case where inter-band sub-scanning is performed with feeding amount SSb1 of 6 dots even in the blank region Rb2.
