PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding machine capable of highly accurately and highly efficiently machining a cam by preventing pitching motion of a traverse slide. SOLUTION: A grinding wheel G successively positions the traverse slide 23 on a bed 10 in indexing positions opposed to a plurality of machining places separately arranged in a workpiece W in the axial direction. The traverse slide 23 is clamped to the bad 10 by a clamp mechanism in the respective indexing positions. A wheel spindle stock 30 is allowed to make generating motion toward the workpiece W by a linear motor 41 in a state of clamping the traverse slide 23.
