PURPOSE: A device for protecting a motor for a vacuum cleaner is provided to precisely detect the overload of the motor, and to directly introduce air into a motor housing when the motor is overloaded. CONSTITUTION: A lower casing(170) forms the lower part of a body. A motor housing(160) is installed at the upper side of the lower casing(170), and has a driving motor(150). A filtering unit is installed at the upper part of the lower casing(170), and filters foreign bodies from introduced air. A middle cover(120) is formed by integrating an upper surface(124) of the motor housing with an upper part(122) of the filtering unit. A pressure sensor for detecting the pressure of the motor housing, and a damper for introducing air into the motor housing are installed at the upper surface(124) of the motor housing.
