PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide manufactured by a method by which low cost is realized and waste fluid or the like is not discharged by simplifying the manufacturing procedure. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide is characterized by the fact that the optical waveguide is provided with a first clad layer, a photocatalyst-contained layer formed on the first clad layer, the refractive index of which is decreased by energy irradiation, a second clad layer formed on the photocatalyst-contained layer, and the photocatalyst-contained layer is composed of a third clad layer which is a region in which the refractive index is decreased by the energy irradiation and a core layer which is a region held between the third clad layers and not irradiated with energy, further, the photocatalyst-contained layer is composed of at least a photocatalyst and a binder. |
