PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spent fuel storage rack, proper for improving aseimic capability by reducing the seismic load added to bolts and the rack body, when receiving horizontal earthquake, because of being tightly fixed with bolts to a placing floor and relaxing the structure. SOLUTION: By placing a spent fuel storage rack with bolts and the like without fixing on it the floor, earthquake motion transmitted from the floor to the fuel storage rack is reduced. For rocking vibrations due to horizontal load, a braking device having a braking mechanism is placed on the rack floor, to suppress excess vibration.
