PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing molded charcoal containing a toner and preferably a plastic, capable of keeping high strength of the molded charcoal and a high yield thereof, when the molded charcoal is produced by adding a heated tar binder to finely powdered charcoal which has been heated and dried, mixing them, and pressurizing/molding the mixture by using a molding machine. SOLUTION: This method for producing the molded charcoal comprises adding the tar binder having a temperature of 60-140 deg.C to the finely powdered charcoal having a temperature of 40-60 deg.C to mix them, further adding the waste toner to the mixture to knead them, and finally pressurizing/molding the kneaded mixture by using the molding machine so as to give the molded charcoal containing the toner. Plastic particles having a particle size of <=10 mm are preferably added to the finely powdered charcoal to which the tar binder has been already added.
