The bird or animal scarer, designed to react electronically to a moving creature to deploy a small model of a person, consists of a plastic body in three sections, a protective grid (18) and a screw (16) for fixing it into the ground. The model is held in the body on a compressed spring that is released on detection of movement and is retracted after a set period by a timer and electromagnet.
