<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an image compression data to decrease block noise at reproduction. SOLUTION: A camera signal processing circuit 12 converts an output of an imaging means 10 into a 4:4:4 digital signal. An averaging circuit 14 compresses a band of a luminance component to average a chroma component. An interleaving filter 16 interleaves an output of the averaging circuit 14 adopting the 4:2:2 form into a 3:1:1 form. An image compression circuit 18 applies digital image processing to an output of the interleave filter 16 and compresses it. A recording signal processing circuit 20 applies recording processing to an output of the image compression circuit 18. A microcomputer 24 selects a compression rate on the basis of information from an input device 22 to control the averaging circuit 14, the interleave filter 16 and the image compression circuit 18.</p> |
