PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of maintaining the freshness of low temperature sensitive fruit and vegetables, and efficiently containing them. SOLUTION: A switching chamber 5 can be changed into a high temperature fruit and vegetables chamber when low temperature sensitive fruit and vegetables, such as bananas, cucumbers and eggplants, are contained. The temperature of the switching chamber is set at 10-15 deg.C, so that low temperature sensitive fruit and vegetables can be freshly stored at a suitable temperature. A deodorization and antifungal device 18 disposed at a cold air inlet passage in the switching chamber feeds ozone to the switching chamber 5, so that propagation of miscellaneous germs, such as mold, can be prevented even when the cold storage temperature of the switching chamber 5 is set comparatively high. As the switching chamber 5 can be used for containing a substitute for the low temperature sensitive fruit and vegetables, the storage efficiency can be highly improved.
