PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new isomer of water suitable for use in water treatment, and to provide a method for using the same and a method for preparing the same. SOLUTION: The isomer 1 of water is represented by the same molecular formula as a molecule of water and the angleαof its dipole is larger than the angleβof the dipole of a molecule of water and equal to or smaller than 200 deg.. This isomer 1 of water is formed by applying a high-frequency electric field and an alternating magnetic field to numerous molecules of water to vary the angleβof the dipole of each molecule of water. When the isomer 1 of water is added to waste water, water treatment, that is, separation of impurities contained in the waste water is carried out.
