PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor which can reduce a power, improve durability and reduce vibrations and noises by minimizing a centrifugal force of a vane. SOLUTION: A magnesium alloy is used as a base material of a vane 13. The surface of the vane is plated with electrolytic nickel or non-electrolytic nickel, for preventing abrasion of the vane. Under such a construction, compared with the conventional aluminum alloy vane 13 widely used, the centrifugal force generated can be reduced by specific gravity ratio (to about two-thirds) of the base material. Accordingly, a pressing force of the vane 13 to a cylinder 4 is reduced, so as to improve abrasion durability. Thereby, it is made possible to manufacture a practical vane 13.
