PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrophilic polyolefin fiber. SOLUTION: Hydrophilicity can be imparted to a polyolefin fiber by introducing hydrophilic groups such as CHO, CO or COO through an ozone treatment. The hydrophilicity is expressed by a ratio (O/C) of elements of oxygen and carbon determined by ESCA, and the value is 0.02-0.30.
