PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an electronic device and method for self-testing an optical waveguide network, and a program for executing the method. SOLUTION: In this electronic system having multiple nodes connected to a network by optical waveguides, each node comprises a means for transmitting a message to each adjacent node with a reduced transmitting output; a means for receiving the confirmation of receipt of this message from the related adjacent node; and a means for outputting an error message to a bus management node when receiving no confirmation. This electronic system is diagnosed by use of these means, and the diagnosis is executed by a computer program.
