PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device for constructing a camera at a low cost and simplifying the design of the camera. SOLUTION: A plurality of light receiving elements PD having a color separation filter in the same color are arranged two-dimensionally adjacent to each other for an image pickup section of a solid-state image pickup device 10, a plurality of apertures AP for limiting light made incident to the corresponding light receiving elements PD are formed on light receiving faces of a plurality of the light receiving elements PD, and a vertical transfer electrode VEL for extracting the signal from the light receiving elements is placed by circumventing a plurality of the apertures AP. Further, the light receiving elements PD are placed so that the distance among the adjacent light receiving elements PD is nearly the same.
