PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition free from the generation of toxic gasses during burning, and having high flame resistance and excellent mechanical strength, and to provide an electric wire/cable produced by using the resin composition as a sheath of an insulating body. SOLUTION: To 100 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin, 50-250 pts.wt. of a metal hydroxide and 0.5-50 pts.wt. of a 1,3,5-triazine derivative are added. Optionally, 3-20 pts.wt. of at least one metal selected from a group consisting of titanium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, niobium, molybdenum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, tantalum, indium and platinum, or its compound is added to the obtained mixture. |
