A data transmitter for data communication comprises a transmitting unit for converting an electric communication data to be transmitted to optical communication data and transmitting the optical communication data and a photoelectric transducer circuit for converting the received optical communication data into electricity. The photoelectric transducer circuit has a photodiode for generating a current according to the optical communication data and a variable current source for subtracting a predetermined current from the current generated by the photodiode. The bias current of the laser diode of each transmitting unit is set to a current larger than a laser oscillation threshold current, and thereby the variations of the emission delay times of the laser diodes are reduced.
