A process for preparing a free standing cosmetic composition comprising a carrier liquid in which a solidifying agent is dispersed, the process comprising pumping said composition at a temperature such that it is pumpable into an inlet of a pipe which also has an outlet, wherein cooling means is provided to cool said composition within the pipe so that solidified composition is discharged in free standing form through the pipe outlet.
