The plastic binding element has a comb structure consisting of at least one strip (12) and a back bar (10) to receive the strip. The comb structure is passed through the holes in the stack of perforated sheets, and the binding element can then by closed by the strip being fitted positively in the back bar. The comb structure is suitable for the format and thickness of the stack.
