Wireless terminals with means for updating or changing stored data

To enable the updating or changing of control data stored in terminals of a wireless communication system, at least one of the terminals has means to store data concerning the control of the terminal and means to transmit the stored data to another terminal, and at least one other terminal has means to store data concerning the control of the terminal, means to receive control data from another terminal and re-writing means to update or change the stored control data, preferably on the basis of control data received by the receiving means. Preferably the terminal with the transmitting means acts as a master terminal, transmitting control data to a plurality of slave terminals, each having the receiving and re-writing means. Alternatively, each of the terminals has means to store data concerning the control of the terminal, means to transmit the stored data to another terminal, means to receive control data transmitted from another terminal and re-writing means to update or change the stored control data, preferably on the basis of the control data received by the receiving means. The storage means may store executable programs, version data of executable programs or the unit's communication history, calling history or called history. The terminals may be provided with additional wireless communication units, e.g. Bluetooth. Applicable to communication systems enabling mutual communication (voice, data etc.) between terminals by radio, optical or similar wireless transmission, e.g. personal handyphone system (PHS).
