PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the generation of hydrogen sulfide and removing the same generated from an industrial waste stabilization treatment site. SOLUTION: The method is characterized by causing an iodine-cyclodextrin inclusion compound to exist in the ground of a waste disposal site and/or on the surface part to prevent the generation of hydrogen sulfide and to remove the same generated from the stabilization disposal site. Preferably, a tube charged with the iodine-cyclodextrin inclusion compound is installed in the ground of the waste disposal site so that one end of the tube emerges from the surface. The generation of hydrogen sulfide is prevented and removed in the ground, or the iodine-cyclodextrin inclusion compound is sprayed on the surface part.
