The invention relates to a vertical dosing hopper for producing boards consisting of derived timber products. Said hopper is arranged above a dispersion head for glued wood particles. The supply of particles is provide d essentially in the vertical direction and the wood particles are transported essentially downwards to a discharge device (18, 48). The invention is characterised in that the hopper is provided for flat, elongated wood particles or wood chips (strands) for producing boards comprising oriented wood chips (OSB, LSL). The supply chamber comprises at least one vertical conveyer shaft (13) by which means the flat, elongated wood chips are continuously delivered to a discharge device (18, 48). The conveyer shaft essentially consists of two conveyer strips (14, 15, 46, 47) which are arranged opposite each other in a parallel and vertical manner, and which extend over the entire width of the hopper.
