PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the amount of light emitted in the direction perpendicularly crossing to the outgoing surface of a light source to meet the requirement of increase in an amount of light from a light guide plate since the conventional light guide plate is difficult to increase the amount of light. SOLUTION: This light source device has a light source; a rod-shaped light guide body introducing light from the light source; and a light guide plate guiding light emitted from the rod-shaped light guide body, incoming through a incoming light side surface part to a display panel. A means reflecting light to a surface other than a surface facing the light guide plate of the rod-shaped light guide body, or a means diffusing light is arranged, and the width of the rod-shaped light guide body is made narrower in the direction apart from the light source. |
