PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in order to read radiation image information from a stimulable phosphor sheet, it becomes necessary to convey a cassette which holds the phosphor sheet, but there might occur the case that the situation in which the conveyance of the cassette cannot be continued due to jamming or the like during conveyance so that a radiation image reader must be stopped, a resetting work so far is carried out only by a serviceman with the result that a radiation photographing service must be interrupted until the serviceman arrives thereat. SOLUTION: When the stimulable phosphor sheet during conveyance or the cassette holding the stimulable phosphor sheet is jammed, the operation of a conveying man is forcibly stopped by opening an opening/closing means, and the phosphor sheet or the cassette in which the phosphor sheet is held can be removed without damaging the sheet or the cassette in which the sheet is held from the opening brought about by opening the opening/closing means without damaging the surface of the sheet.
