PURPOSE: A method for checking the recording of a time-lapse VCR is provided to carry out the checking of a normal recording operation by a single function key input, thereby promoting the convenience of use. CONSTITUTION: A method for checking the recording of a time-lapse VCR includes the steps of determining whether a recording-checking signal is input by a recording-checking function key to check whether a recording operation is normally carried out(201-202), stopping the recording operation by controlling a capstan motor drive if so(203-206), reproducing the recorded video data reversely while operating the capstan motor reversely(207), checking whether the reverse reproducing is carried out by the number of set FG pulses(208), stopping the reverse reproducing operation by controlling the capstan motor drive if so(209-212), and carrying out the recording operation again(213).
