PURPOSE: A touch type liquid crystal display device is provided to realize touch type liquid crystal by installing photo diodes without installing a touch screen, thereby simplifying processes and reducing manufacturing costs. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of gate lines(2) and data lines(16) crossing each other are formed on a glass substrate. A plurality of common electrode lines(4) are arranged in pixel areas in parallel with the gate lines. A plurality of thin film transistors(TFT) are arranged at each cross part of the gate lines and the data lines. A plurality of pixel electrodes(14) are arranged at the pixel areas. A plurality of photo diodes(PD) receive optical signals from the outside and flow optical current for recognizing X,Y position of specific pixels. Each photo diode includes a shielding pattern(3) to shield incident light, an active layer(8b) on the shielding patterns, a passivation layer(10b) formed on the active layer, a first electrode and a second electrode arranged on the active layer and contacting with the gate lines and the data lines, and an ohmic contact layer interposed between the active layer and the first and second electrodes.
