<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reading method and a bar code reader capable of reducing an erroneous reading of a bar code displayed by a display device indicating an image in a pixel configuration on a screen. SOLUTION: In this bar code reader, a light guide plate is arranged on the front face of the screen in the display device indicating the image in a pixel configuration on the screen. The bar code reader is provided with an illuminating light source radiating white illumination light, which includes a wavelength giving high light receipt sensitivity in the bar code reader, over an area wider than a laser beam irradiation area. An illuminating angle of the illuminating light source is wider than a total reflection angle of the light guide plate.</p> |
