PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive for applying a signal processing method that fits respective characteristics of a servo signal and a data signal in a perpendicular magnetic recording method. SOLUTION: In this perpendicular magnetic recording type disk drive, a data channel 11 performs data decoding of a data signal of a vertical rectangular wave in a read signal read from a disk 1 by a read head with positive coefficient PR equalization type PRML signal processing. The data channel 11 converts the servo signal of the vertical rectangular wave into a differential signal waveform with a differentially equalizing circuit 111 and reproduces servo data from the differential signal waveform.
