PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly return to an on-track state when track deviation occurs in a DVD-RAM optical disk device. SOLUTION: At the data recording/reproducing operation with respect to the optical disk 10 having an embossed data zone and a rewritable data zone, when the track deviation occurs, a header part signal included in an RF sum signal is detected by a discriminating part 27 of embossed/rewritable data zone. When an optical pickup 14 is positioned at the embossed data zone due to the track deviation, the header part signal is not included in the RF sum signal, while the header part signal is included therein when the optical pickup 14 is positioned at the rewritable data zone. When the header part signal is not detected, the tracking servo for the embossed data zone is executed by a tracking control part 26 to return to the on-track state, while the tracking servo for the rewritable data zone is operated to return to the no-track state when the header part signal is detected.
