DISTRIBUTION OF WEIGHTING BETWEEN PORT CONTROL SYSTEM AND SWITCH CARD FOR PACKET SWITCHING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet switching device equipped with a plurality of switch cards. SOLUTION: In the packet switching device provided with a plurality of line cards (1 and 2), each of a plurality of line cards is provided with port control systems (6 and 7) for storing and arranging a packet inside an output queue, and for the clocked generation and amendment of weighting containing information on the state of the output queue. Besides, a plurality of switch cards (3-5) are provided and each of a plurality of switch cards is composed of a crosspoint matrix (8) and an arbiter (9) for controlling the crosspoint matrix (8). In such a case, each of the port control systems (6 and 7) transmits the weighting selected out of a table and amended by using a round robbin method (30) to the arbiter (9).
