PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information terminal which can eliminate the condition that existence of information to be notified cannot be confirmed when the back-light is off and can detect the details of information to be notified by a simplified operation. SOLUTION: The information terminal comprises an LED 210c to inform existence of information to be notified when the back-light 210b is off, a key operation unit (hard key 211, cross key 210d or the like) where the operation function is indicated by the printing on the cabinet and a soft key operation unit 210d which can display the operation function to the lower display area of the liquid crystal display unit 210a and allows visual recognition of function when the back-light 210b lights. Moreover, a control means is provided to differentiate key processes and information notification process after the back-light lights depending on the class of key inputted from the operation unit when the back-light is off.
