PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance planarity at the frictional driving section of a vibration in a vibration wave motor employing a vibrator arranged to hold a piezoelectric element between disc-like resilient bodies. SOLUTION: A vibrator is completed by holding a piezoelectric element 1 between a pair of resilient bodies 4 and tightening them by means of a hollow bolt 6 and a nut 7. A contact member 4a is fixed to the plane of the resilient body becoming the driving section. Under completed state, the vibrator is subjected to surface machining for enhancing the planarity at the frictional driving section of the resilient body. |
