PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PYRIMIDONE ACETAMIDE DERIVATIVE AND CRYSTALS THEREOF

A process whereby a pyrimidone acetamide derivative having a chymase inhibitory effect, for example, 2−(5−formylamino−6−oxo−2−phen yl−1,6−dihydropyrimidin−1−yl)&minus ;N−{[3,4−dioxo−1−phenyl− 7−(2−pyridyloxy)]−2−heptyl&rcub ;acetamide, can be industrially produced in short steps at a high yield. Since the product can be obtained in the form of crystals by the above process, operations such as filtration can be easily carried out. Thus, it becomes unnecessary to use silica gel chromatography in the isolation/purification thereof. In its turn, it becomes unnecessary too to use methylene chloride. Thus, a production process nondetrimental to environment can be established.
