PURPOSE: A seat assembly having a support member is provided to stably support a driver from the sides in high-speed traveling or turning. CONSTITUTION: A seat assembly having a support member includes a seat body(30) having a built-in frame within; at least a pair of support members(41,42) rotatably installed on both outer sides of the seat body in the width direction of the seat body, to support a driver from the sides; and a driving unit operating the support member. A driving shaft is rotatably installed to the frame and both ends of the driving shaft are exposed to the outside of the seat body. Each support member is connected to each exposed end portion of the driving shaft. The driving unit has a driving device mounted to the frame of the seat body and a gear device connected to the driving device and the driving shaft, to transmit the driving force of the driving device to the driving shaft. Thus, the driver is effectively supported in high-speed traveling or sudden turning.
