FIELD: machine engineering, namely formation of microphotography of friction pairs. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, magnetostrictive converter connected with concentrator and ultrasound irradiator. Discharge union with guiding pipe is mounted on housing of apparatus. Said union is designed for supplying liquid solution of finely dispersed particles and for indicating intensity of ultrasound irradiation. The last is secured to end portion of concentrator by means of stud; end of ultrasound irradiator is in the form of working tip with contact area in the form of concave spherical or flat surface depending upon shape of metal surface to be treated. Such apparatus allows to saturate treated surface with finely dispersed materials. EFFECT: lowered friction factor, improved wear resistance of treated metal surface, enhanced efficiency of apparatus. 2 dwg
