<p>A multi-medium system for controlling a calculation amount and controlling power consumption while suppressing deterioration of the reproduction quality according to the terminal type and state. When a terminal requests data from a fixed apparatus, a list of the terminal device state and usable data formats is transmitted to the fixed apparatus with information on the reproduction quality and power consumption for each of the data formats. The fixed apparatus decides the data format to be used according tot these information items. Alternatively, the terminal decides the data format to be used according to the reproduction quality difference and power consumption required for the reproduction and the fixed apparatus transmits data to the terminal in the data format specified. The terminal controls the operation frequency and power voltage of the calculation apparatus according to the data format and controls power consumption.</p> |
