The main profile (1) has two arms (1, 2) connected via a web (3) which is provided with two support surfaces (4, 5) and spaced apart threaded and fastener bores (6, 7). The first arm (1) has a sloping surface (8) for guiding and retaining a clamping jaw, and is also provided with a snap-fit nose (9) for securing inside a cover profile (20). The second arm (2), which is designed to act as a counter-piece in the assembled profile, is oriented at right angles to the web, is provided with an intermediate layer (2.2) and has a face (2.1) used as an adhesive surface for securing the cover profile. Clamping jaws having a sloping surface (10) and snap-fit nose (11) for securing inside a cover profile are provided. A through-bore (12) in the clamping jaws provides access to the head of a screw held inside the fastener bore in the main profile web. A right-angled surface (14) on the jaws supports an intermediate layer and acts as a counter-piece in the assembled profile. A first cover profile with two arms (15, 16) and a connecting web (17) has a snap-fit nose (18, 19) on each arm for securing it inside the main profile or jaws. A second cover profile (20) is secured to the face of the second arm using e.g. adhesive (tape).
