FIELD: metalworking. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal cutting and finishing. Proposed cutting tip contains cutting member made of superhard material having curvilinear cutting edge formed by intersection of front and rear surfaces. To provide low roughness of machined surface at reduction of labour input for sharpening, rear surface of cutting member made of superhard material is made in form of two intersecting conical surfaces with parallel axes. Cutting edge includes central and side sections, radius of curvature of central section being greater than radius of curvature of side sections. EFFECT: improved quality of metalworking. 4 dwg
