<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an optical element capable of improving durability of the forming mold in the forming process. SOLUTION: The method for forming an optical element comprises the steps of heating a glass material concurrently or separately with a pair of forming molds and softening the glass material to be deformable, and press forming the glass material with the pair of forming molds, where in the course of heating the glass material to a set temperature, pressing force is applied after the temperature exceeds the transition point of the glass material, and forming is carried out while raising temperature and increasing pressure each to the set value.</p> |
