PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that correctly detects the hue and density of a toner patch and ensures excellent color reproducibility by using a method for controlling a sensor for correctly detecting reflected light from toner even in a high temperature environment after fixing. SOLUTION: The device has a light emitting means 102 that emits light to an image 104 on a transfer material 1, and an accumulation type light detecting means 101 that detects reflected light from the toner image 104 on the transfer material 1. When detecting reflected light from the toner image 104, the light detecting means 101 accumulates charges with the light emitting means 102 turned off and accumulates charges with the light emitting means 102 turned on. On the basis of the difference between the two cases after correction is made according to the difference in accumulating time, the reflected light from the toner image 104 on the transfer material 1 is detected. |
