摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve the image quality of an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is formed by sequentially laminating a photoconductive layer composed of a non-single crystalline material consisting of silicon atoms as its parent body and an upper inhibition layer on a conductive substrate and to achieve the cost reduction thereof by reducing the optical deterioration of the upper inhibition layer, attaining the compatibility of the reduction of an optical memory with the improvement in electrostatic chargeability and sensitivity with a higher dimension and reducing the flow of the images and the microcracks arising on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor for negative charge is characterized in that the upper inhibition layer contains silicon atoms, the atoms belonging to periodic table group 13, hydrogen atoms and/or halogen atoms, further contains atoms of at least one among respective atoms of C, N and O; the spin density measured by an ESR method right after making is 5×10<16> to 1×10<19> cm<-3> and the content of the atoms belonging to the periodic table group 13 with respect to the silicon atoms is 100 to 30,000 atom ppm.
