摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable the aiming of an object detection device only by a simple software processing without the necessity of a mechanical aiming mechanism. SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. (A), when an axis Lr in a detection area of an object detection device Sr is deviated downwardly, the detection device is not likely to detect a sign board, etc., at higher positions than a road surface but likely to detect droppings, etc., on the road surface. In this case, a problem of detecting droppings, etc., on the road surface can be solved by lowering the sensitivity for a short distance as shown Fig. 9 (B). In contrast, when the axis Lr is deviated upwardly, there is no possibility to detect droppings, etc., on the road surface but a sign board, etc., at higher positions then the road surface. In this case, a problem of detecting a sign board can be solved by lowering the sensitivity for a long distance.</p>
